  After reading the mostly wonderful reviews and listening to the recommendations from coworkers, we decided to go to Chinese Village for dinner. It was a busy Friday night but we found a table right away. We ordered the $15 dinner for two plus pot stickers for appetizers. The colorless wonton soup came out along the dried tough BBQ pork with a splash hot Chinese mustard under a layer of sesame seeds. The soup was so salty that I was wondering whether they souped it out of the ocean but couldn't because ocean water has flavor. They brought out pot stickers out with dinner even though they should have been appetizers and we were given the reason "the cook does it this way." We had Cashew chicken was over cooked and tasteless, the pork fried rice had shavings of the dried bbq pork on top. The overly breaded sweet and sour pork with red dye and nondistingufished pineapple bits had a funny taste like old frying oil and no meat taste at all. The only saving grace was the Almond Chicken because it did have flavor under the congealed corn starched gravy. I am glad that the portions were very small for the price because we couldn't and wouldn't take home any of the dishes. The people who would rate this place more than a 1 star obviously do not know what Chinese food is really supposed to taste like.
